Sour cream pound cake is the best pound cake. You have to taste it for yourself to enjoy the flavor of the easy recipe. I will explain to you a simple and easy way of making this traditional dessert.

My grandmother is from the old school of cooking a pinch of this or a dash of that. Never really writing doing what they did just doing it. So of course when it’s time to past the recipes along you get “child I just know in my head, what a recipe?!” Or my favorite statement “to taste.” So you wing it and do the best you can. Sometimes hitting the mark on the head and sometimes you just have to throw it away and start over.

I am glad that my children have been blessed to have my grandmother in their lives. My oldest daughter has been blessed to be in the kitchen and cook with her great grandmother.
One of my grandmothers favorite recipes is her sour cream pound cake. Try it and enjoy!
Ingredients
1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter
3 cups sugar
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 cups all-purpose flour
6 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon coconut flavor
1 teaspoon mayo
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the sour cream and mix until incorporated. Sift the baking soda and flour together. Add to the creamed mixture alternating with eggs, beating each egg 1 at a time. Add the vanilla, coconut and mayo mix. And pour the mixture into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake for 1 hour 20 minutes.
