"I have began to understand that in order for the nation to change, I had to change to. In fact, maybe I am part of the blame, part of the reason, that there hasn't been as much change as their should've been," admits president Obama. "I stayed silent when I should have spoken out."
That changes with Obama's new Low Toleration For Unnecessary Black Deaths plan that he is launching and will be in effect even when the president is long gone. "No one will be able to get rid of this plan as it becomes legislation," said the president with a brief smile. President Obama goes on to say, "These people have been waiting for something to be done that will help them feel safer in this society. And I have answered their call." The crowd went into a frenzy of happiness and cheering as the president spoke.
His new Low Toleration For Unnecessary Black Deaths will take effect in March of 2016. After this date, any officer that kills an unarmed person, will immediately go to trial and face possible execution. The reason is that the police are paid officials that we entrust to protect us. They are supposed to watch out for us and make sure that we are safe. Not invoke fear and unnecessarily kill innocent and unarmed black people.
"The balance of the nation lies with my new plan," said Obama. "If people do not feel safe in this country then they will produce havoc. They want to know that police officers will face charges and be punished if they are unfairly executed. It is American and it is what is right."
Their was a parade of officers right outside protesting with signs that read, "Police officers have rights too."
Jimmy Parker, patrol officer of Trenton, NJ said, "It's about time that we did something about this. I was beginning to lose hope in the law and what my job really means. I became an officer to protect people. Not kill anyone or invoke any type of fear." That's not how you create freedom or peace.
But not all of the police officers are so happy about the new LTFUBD act. "This will limit police powers and cause an unnecessary imbalance in the leverage and authority that police officers have. It's crazy and will never work. Black people kill themselves all the time. We may execute a few here and there but it is in the greater good. We maintain control and by getting people to fear us, they also learn to respect and obey us. Take away our power, and we lose this leverage."
