Kanye West - "I am a professional dreamer."
Kanye West keeps it real about fashion, business and his relationship with Kim Kardashian. He talked about being in an interracial relationship with Kim Kardashian and talks about how him and his wife, Kim K, are on their grind to improve the future for their beautiful child.
"People are going to write in the history books about what I am doing right now," states the egotistical rap legend. When asked about what the hell he was thinking when he created the flop "Bound To," the rap artist states, "I wanted to criticize poor white trash t-shirts," and in return make the video look as stupid as it could possibly be. Fans have criticized the song and await more Kanye West music that comes from the grassroots.
Kanye West also talks about his dealings with Nike. West stated that Nike and Apple Computers are thought of as having the same relevance, but the only difference is that Apple is worth half a trillion dollars and that Nike is worth less than one hundred billion dollars, pointing out that there is a big difference between the two companies. "But if you from the hood, Nike seems larger than life because of how they present themselves," said Kanye West.
He asserts that he is not at war with Nike in particular, only the present wave of publicists and marketeers who do not follow his vision. He also stated that many of them are no longer on board with the multibillion dollar franchise. "I have plenty of ideas," in reference to his line of shoes that he eager to start building with the company, pointing out that Nike needs him and his business acumen, to see the success that they finally wish to achieve.
In referring to his wife, Kim Kardashian clothing line, Kanye points that it is his responsibility to make sure that her clothing line and fashion influence stay relevant. "If me and Kim broke up then I would look like a fool," because he didn't make sure that her line of clothing received the success that it deserves.
Kanye also talked about why money is so important. He said that he doesn't want to work for Walmart, but that he wants to build his own, pointing out that black people are far behind in terms of making money than everyone else. But Kanye West does have a more less vain side. He pointed out that even though he himself is a God, that he can still recognize Jesus.
No matter your opinion of the artist or how egotistical you think he is, Kanye West is one of the most influential musicians of our time, as he is often compelled to remind us.
Kanye West is not above letting the world know that he is talented, influential and a genius in his own right. He freely compares himself with the likes of Mozart, Michael Angelo, Steve Jobs and states, "It's really a compliment to them." As one of the most influential musical artists of our time, perhaps its only fair that Kanye West make these generalizations as freely as he does, without worry of criticism. "I almost lost my life, I've lost my mother," but he insists that he is still here now, so there is a reason. Perhaps testimony that the reason for his success is beyond his own understanding.
